Artificial intelligence (AI) techniques such as deep learning, machine learning, pattern recognition, natural language processing (NLP), and computer vision have advanced in the last few years, and their ground breaking applications in the rapidly developing smart city and industrial automation applications have been observed. In this case, artificial intelligence (AI) gives smart energy systems the effective tools they need to handle smart power generation, distribution, and emergency response. Artificial intelligence technologies facilitate the integration of renewable energy sources into the smart grid. In the meanwhile, the developing smart energy grids may make use of certain security and privacy evaluation techniques thanks to machine learning, a subset of artificial intelligence.
