HCLTech plans to hire around 10,000 new hires in FY25.
HCLTech, the third-largest IT services firm in India, plans to hire around 10,000 freshmen in the fiscal year 2025. This announcement coincides with a trend among its competitors to withhold campus employment objectives due to unpredictability in the labour market.
“For FY25, our go in position is about 10,000,” stated Chief People Officer Ramachandran Sundararajan during the company’s fourth-quarter results conference. Over 10% of the plan is derived from the off-campus cycle that we completed in the previous quarter. We have already made available the offers from the campus cycle for this quarter, which accounts for an additional 15% of the plan, and the next cycle is already underway.
“So if you look at the readiness to meet the numbers for this year, we are quite prepared for that. So the go-in position is we look at 10,000 plus for FY25,” he added.
HCLTech had also bucked the larger IT industry-wide trend on both sequential and full-year net addition numbers. It added 2,725 employees in the fourth quarter ended March 31.
Net fresher addition in Q4 stood at 3,096 freshers. For the full year, HCLTech added 12,141 freshers.
The company’s total headcount in Q4 was 227,481. It added 1,537 employees YoY in FY24.
In comparison to the 12.8 percent recorded in the previous quarter, HCLTech’s attrition on a last 12-month (LTM) basis for the fourth quarter was 12.4%. Since the COVID-19 quarter of 2021, this is the company’s lowest attrition.
Tech Mahindra has stated that it would recruit roughly 6,000 freshers in FY25, while peers like Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) anticipate adding about 40,000 freshers.
On April 26, HCLTech revealed its Q4 numbers, revealing a net profit of Rs 3,986 crore, up 0.1 percent year over year. The IT company announced a dividend of Rs 18.
Compared to the same period last year, the company’s sales increased by 7.1 percent to Rs 28,499 crore in Q4FY24 from Rs 26,606 crore.
Over the course of the fiscal year FY24, net profit increased by 5.7% to Rs 15,702 crore and revenue increased by 8.3% YoY to Rs 109,913 crore.
