Kurichi Tank is a significant water body located in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. Transformation into a Mini Forest
In an inspiring initiative to rejuvenate the environment, ‘Kovai Kulangal Padhukappu Ammaippu’ a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) in Coimbatore has undertaken the ambitious project of converting a debris dumping site near Kurichi tank into a thriving mini forest.
Supported by a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) contribution from ZF Wind Power Coimbatore amounting to Rs.5.92 lakh, the project has successfully seen the planting of 1,500 saplings since its commencement on June 24, 2023.
The initiative to turn the debris dumping site near Kurichi Tank into a mini forest is a significant step towards environmental sustainability in Coimbatore. It not only addresses the issue of waste management but also contributes to the overall well-being of the community and the ecosystem.
